Our Italian language course is perfect for those who want to live the experience of learning a foreign language completely immersed in the culture and traditions of the Casentino valley.
Our school is located in Poppi, an old Tuscan medieval village where the inhabitants are always happy to have a chat with our students. That’s why a stroll in the countryside, a coffee break or a walk around the farmers’ market give you the chance to learn Italian conversation in complete tranquility, far away from the city hustle and bustle.
You’ll have an enthralling study trip that is going to be a real life experience. That’s the key to success of our Italian language courses, together with the choice of having very small classes. Indeed, you will learn Italian grammar in small groups of 3-5 people at your same linguistic level. The 1st Monday of the course (or on your first day of arrival), after your registration at the school, we’ll check your Italian language knowledge with an entry test in order to create homogeneous groups.
THE COURSE
Our Italian language course consists of 20 fifty-minute lessons in the morning (from 9 AM to 12:40 PM) per week. All our lessons are held in Italian, but ‘in case of emergency’ all our teachers are fluent English speakers.
The early bird catches the… Italian grammar
During the first two lessons (9-10:40 AM) you’ll learn Italian grammar guided by our native Italian language teachers. All of them are graduated and qualified to teach Italian as a foreign language. They select the best learning material for your needs and will become a point of reference during your study trip. Their grammar lessons always fit for the linguistic level of the group and, working with few students at a time, each lesson is a real full immersion in every grammar topic.
A chatty break
The twenty-minute break between the two lesson blocks is always a good occasion to go and have a chat at the coffee bar (you won’t find any vending machine in the school, because going out for a coffee is part of the course!) and learn Italian conversation with Poppi inhabitants.
You know, we’re Italian and we like speaking!
At 11 AM everybody’s back in the classroom for two new lessons. Now it’s time for conversation! After the first lessons spent with other students like you, it will be easier to break the ice, and since we work in small groups of 3-5 people, everyone has always the opportunity to speak and practice Italian conversation. The school encourages any form of cooperative learning and is characterized by a multicultural atmosphere. During the conversation lessons of our Italian language course, you’ll learn new words and get acquainted with the spoken language, without the fear of being judged while practicing a foreign language.
Let’s make some role-play!
In thirty years of experience we have learnt that each student, no matter her/his age, needs to express her/his personality and in our Italian language course Thursday – the role play-day – is perfect to have fun and establish new relationships. We watch some movies, we play games like ‘complete the sentence’, we listen to famous Italian songs and then we sing them. In three words: we have fun!

Last but not least…
On the last Friday of the course there’s the final test (with no marks!). We need it to know at which level have you got after the time spent together and to have an indication for the following year in case you won’t resist to come back to our school! The final test is very useful for you too, to understand what and how many progresses you have made during the course.
After the delivery of your certificate of attendance, we will say goodbye to each other, hoping to hear from you again.
Once back home, don’t let your everyday life, your work and the distance from Italy keep you away from Italian language. The school offers a continuous learning program with private lessons on Skype held by the same teachers you met in Poppi.
